Our cafes offer a cool, relaxing environment in which to enjoy a respite from the heat with a light lunch and smoothie or to indulge with a cup of premium coffee and a taste of our sumptuous baked goods, including our now-famous gooey, chocolate brownie. Both locations boast comfortable sofas, free WiFi, air-conditioning and pleasant ambiance — all at an unbeatable price. Our Riverside location, on the upper floor of our Visitor Centre , offers diners the chance to learn more about Daughters’ operations or to peruse a selection of our handmade products in the Daughters Boutique, downstairs. Our Garden café is located in the charming Russian Market neighborhood and features a large garden dining area. A beautiful children’s play area is located in the Garden cafe for children aged 2-9, designed with a nautical theme.
Sugar ‘n Spice Cafés are fully-operational restaurants offering a delicious range of foods sure to please any palate. But more than that, our cafés are vocational training centers, where girls who have been trafficked into Cambodia’s murky sex industry can start a new life. Central to Daughters’ mission is the provision of alternative employment for victims of sex trafficking. Our restaurants provide fair-trade jobs while producing an income stream that is reinvested in Daughters’ programs.
Our kitchen training program, established by a professional chef from New Zealand, trains our clients to a high culinary standard that is reflected in each of the dishes they serve. The training opportunities at our cafés are such that our clients are promoted to positions such as head chef, sous chef, barista trainer, and front-of-house manager. Our waitress staff take English and customer service lessons as part of their training.
